Studio Paintings

Studio paintings are usually larger works. They rely on preparatory sketches and photography and have through a long planning process the potential to develop more saturated narrative contents. Once the desired format has been established through that process, an individual painting surface will be build. In contrast to an Plein Air painting wich will be done in one sitting, a large pallet of colors will be applied in several layers, the painting process itself taking weeks or often months.
